Should Roberto Luongo Have Skipped The All Star Game 5

The past a short while have not been an entertaining time to manifest as a Vancouver Canucks fan. Ever since their superstar netminder Roberto Luongo took place which has a groin injury they has struggled mightily, playing below.500 hockey and steadily slipping down the standings during the Western Conference. While using the signing of Swedish superstar Mats Sundin ghanaians of Vancouver had renewed hope that their Vancouver Canucks can probably transform around. Alas, though Sundin was being hailed as a general savior rigtht after the announcement of his signing, the realists knew that Sundin would take the time to get his game so as, following above 7 months from the game. When Sundin was lacking the immediate impact that they expected, fans begun to pin their hopes for the imminent return of Roberto Luongo. Replacements Curtis Sanford, Corey Schneider and Jason LaBarbera had all could not provide stellar netminding, and you often see the fact that the team was fiddling with fragile confidence, canrrrt trust the men behind the pipes. However, Canucks fans were again doomed to disappointment. Luongo looked shaky in his return about the Phoenix Coyotes, surrendering 3 brutal goals (4 in whole) as his team was beaten easily by their Western Conference rivals. The second game against Columbus proved no better for Luongo because he gave up 5 goals in regulation and lost inside the shootout to rookie phenom Steve Mason. Luongo's third game finally saw him rounding into form, because he made several key saves up against the high-flying San Jose Sharks. Unfortunately for Luongo he got little help, in which he was helpless to prevent yourself from the eventual overtime winner by Patrick Marleau. Next over the plate for Roberto Luongo? The NHL All Star Game. Luongo has decided he'll almost certainly attend the experience in her hometown of Montreal, though it is likely he's going to attributes needed skills competition a pass, often unwilling to risk his newly healed groin. Canucks fans are up in arms, some calling Luongo selfish for attending the experience when he could risk his health, a thing that doesn't sit well with fans when the Canucks' playoff hopes rest squarely on Roberto Luongo with his fantastic power to make contact with top form as quickly as possible. Increasingly source of Luongo to go to the All Star game I have faith that. Luongo only agreed to be getting down to show flashes of his usual brilliance during the Canucks last outing. However, because of a scheduling quirk, the Canucks will possess a full 8 day break prior to back to work next Wednesday. Which may be for too long to get Luongo out when one is just starting to shake the rust off. The level of chances when called he'll face inside the All Star game around the Eastern Conference's best shooters is some of the best practice he could possibly get. Sure, he only plays one period, however you can bet he will face two game's worth of difficult chances in that stretch. The fact he only plays Twenty or so minutes and definitely will skip the actual competition only would make the potential for aggravating his groin additional slim. So, to all the triggered complaining about Luongo's selfishness, attributes needed guy an escape. As well as time to play in the All Star game on the city where he matured in the world of the fabled Montreal Canadiens, who will be celebrating their 100th year in the NHL. Let him take pleasure in the moment.
